Sydney Tours and Things to do

Sydney is one of the great metropolitan areas to explore. Go on a site seeing tour, learn about the history of Sydney, see the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House in all their magnificence. Whether it's going on a tour or taking it easy, there is always something to see and do.

Outside Sydney: Perhaps you'd like to go a little further a field and explore the Hunter Valley, which is only a couple of hours outside Sydney. The Hunter Valley is one of Australia's premier wine regions, spend a few nights there and take in all of its serenity. The World Hertitage listed Blue Mountains are also another area outside of Sydney that you should take time out to visit. You may also want to take a day trip to the Australian Capital city of Canberra.

Sydney Beaches.In Sydney itself you can go down to any of the number of Sydney beaches sprinkled along the coast, Bondi Beach, Coogee, Bronte, Maroubra just to name a few. You can walk along the coast and visit each suburb as you go as each suburb has something different to offer and explore. Or take a ferry to the beautiful Manly beach.

Taronga Zoo. If you are on a family holiday, the Taronga Zoo is a great way to spend the day. You can get there by ferry and the trip is comfortable. You are also able to experience the beautiful views the Sydney Harbour presents as you go.

Sydney Shopping. For the shopaholic, Bondi Junction offers endless choices of retail outlets for you to explore, as does the city. For something a little different take a trip up the Sydney Tower and see amazing views of Sydney as the tower revolves. There is also the Sydney Museum, Sydney Art Gallery, the botanical gardens, Kings Cross for extra places to visit.

Sydney Markets. Sydney Markets are always a great way to spend a lazy Saturday or Sunday. Paddington Markets are held on Saturdays and are very popular.

Spend the morning having breakfast and checking out all the stalls. Further down Oxford Street the Fringe Bar also has markets, the stalls are spread throughout the pub. Enjoy the market as you sip on a beer!

Centennial Park. Centennial park is also very popular with Sydney residents. Many activities are held in Centennial park such as an open air cinema and some festivals. This great park is also great for just relaxing and having a picnic, riding your bike or just sitting back while you read the paper on a Saturday and sip your coffee.
